Drawing on quantum computing and wasan—Japan's indigenous mathematical tradition—Alternative Computations reimagines calculation as a cultural and ecological practice rather than a tool of efficiency. The work proposes alternative ways of imagining technology through play, ritual, and collective knowledge.
