YEEDORA (2023–2026)
Sound installation, 2023–2026
YEEDORA explores communication, mobility, and statelessness across the mountainous region of Zomia, where communities have long existed beyond the boundaries of modern nation-states. Drawing on field recordings of shortwave radio signals and online transmissions collected along Thailand's northern border, Anurak Tanyapalit composes a soundscape of more than twenty languages that drift across political and geographical boundaries. Blurring the limits of territory and state-defined borders, the installation imagines an alternative geography shaped by voices, memory, and movement, where invisible networks of communication continue to connect people across fragmented landscapes.
